The Realignment Room

Your body has been holding things your mind moved on from. These are the practices that let it put them down, no workout, no equipment, nothing to keep up with. Tell it what you are feeling or where you are holding it, and it will show you what to do.

Everything you have been through went into your body as well as your memory. A held jaw, a braced stomach, shoulders that will not come down. Your nervous system learned to stay ready, and nobody told it the moment had passed.

Somatic practice works the other direction from most things you have tried. Rather than thinking your way to feeling better, you change the physical state and let the feeling follow. That is why it works for people who cannot face a workout and have not been helped by being told to relax, you are not being asked to push through anything. Most of what follows takes under five minutes and several of them can be done at a desk without anyone noticing.

Start wherever you actually are. Pick the state you are in, or the place in your body where you are holding it, and you will get the practices that match. Every practice explains what it is doing to you and why it works, because the mechanism is genuinely interesting and knowing it is what makes you use the practice rather than dismiss it.

The Alignment Pause
A quick reset
Ninety seconds, guided, nothing to decide. Come back to the rest of the tool afterward.
One rule before you start

Every practice here is an invitation rather than an instruction, and your body is allowed to decline. Go slower than you think you need to, do less than you think you should, and stop whenever you want to. Stopping is not quitting, with this work it is part of the skill. Thirty seconds and then stopping does more than five minutes pushed through, because your nervous system needs to learn that it can come back down.

This is education and self-care, not treatment. Somatic practices support nervous system regulation and are not a substitute for therapy, medical care, or trauma treatment. If you are working with trauma, PTSD, or a mental health condition, these practices work best alongside a qualified professional rather than instead of one.

Go gently and stop whenever you want to. If a practice brings up more than you expected, that is worth telling someone about, it is information rather than a setback. Check with your doctor before the tension release sequences or cold exposure if you have a physical injury, a heart condition, are pregnant, or have circulatory issues.

Nothing you do here is stored, tracked, or transmitted.
